Pastor Search Update – September 2023
Dear Magnolia’s First Family,
The Pastor Search Committee and I want to thank you for praying and fasting with us over the last month on Mondays and as we meet on Monday night at 6:30 to search for our new Senior Pastor. Our spiritual eyes and ears have been sharpened through this deeper time of prayer and fasting, both individually and as a group. And we pray that yours have been also.
The steadfast love of the Lord is so evident in our work. We were getting to know a senior pastor candidate over the past few weeks, and we were very hopeful as we continued our interviews with him to understand his calling, his walk with God, and to determine if he would be a good match for Magnolia’s First Family. However, the door to moving forward with him closed. As we reflected on this closure, we saw that God gave us a glimpse of what He has planned for us in our new Shepherd for Magnolia’s First Family. This pastor’s heart was pure and very devoted to God and His work for him as a pastor. As a result, we are very encouraged as we expectantly wait for God’s man in God’s timing.
We continue to walk with God daily in our search. We have become increasingly aware that PRAYER is the most important job we have! The Pastor Search Committee and the Staff invite you all to join us as we gather for a special hour of worship and prayer on Thursday, October 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center. We will pray for our new senior pastor, our staff, each of our ministries, programs, outreach, and our community as we walk this entire campus and unite our hearts and our voices to petition our Heavenly Father for His will to be done in our midst.
Pray today with us that the Lord’s calling to our new Senior Pastor is clear and unmistakable. Pray that God prepares his and his family’s hearts for the transition. Pray that God continues to equip him to lead Magnolia’s First Family well through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We ask you to continue to fast and pray with us each Monday and especially pray with us at 6:30 p.m. for God to send His Shepherd to Magnolia’s First Family.
